Dennis Hanzlik

As Director of Consulting for Foundstone, Dennis leads Foundstone’s Professional Services for the eastern region. Dennis manages client relationships, assists with pre-sales activities, and oversees client projects from kickoff to final presentation to ensure that each and every project meets Foundstone’s gold standard for security services. Along with other directors, Dennis leads the Foundstone Professional Services group to strategically grow the Foundstone practice through constant improvement of Foundstone’s proven methodologies and the development of additional service delivery capabilities.

Experience

Dennis joined the Foundstone team in 2000 as a Principal Consultant and has provided exceptional service to hundreds of Foundstone clients through professional services engagements and classroom training. Over the years, Dennis has performed a variety of services for Foundstone customers, including network penetration tests; application reviews; product testing; server, firewall, and VPN configuration assessments; information security policy reviews; and incident response program development. Dennis also co-developed the original Ultimate Hacking Web Applications class and has taught several of the Ultimate Hacking series of classes.

Prior to joining Foundstone, Dennis was a consultant for the Air Force Information Warfare Center (AFIWC). He was the technical lead for teams that performed network penetration assessments for Air Force bases across the U.S. and overseas. He also developed data gathering and assessment tools for the AFIWC to enhance their testing capability. Dennis developed and taught classes for new assessment team members as well as for system administrators.

Notable Accomplishments

Dennis is a respected public speaker and has done presentations at several information security events, including technical conferences, executive management seminars, and private security events at the Pentagon, Microsoft, and other organizations.

Certifications and Training

Dennis is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). He previously held a top secret (TS/SCI) clearance for the US government.

Professional Education

Dennis graduated with a BS from Duke University after completing a double major in electrical engineering and computer science. He received his MS in computer science from the University of Texas in San Antonio.
